Francis Robert Dudman

Francis Robert Dudman was born in Sydney’s western suburbs in 1938. Frank married Joyce and they moved to Sylvania in the Sutherland Shire where they lived until moving to Queensland in 1992.
Leaving school after receiving an elementary education, he joined an advertising firm with the view of becoming a commercial artist and began evening classes at East Sydney College for the Arts. His first love was, and remains, books and writing, but he worked in the field of advertising as a graphic designer/copy writer for the rest of his career until his retirement in 1990. This allowed him to concentrate on writing.
An avid reader, he developed a desire to write himself and set about writing Without Heroes. During the long gestation period of this book, he produced a number of shorter works, experimenting in various genres, but remained committed to completing the novel. When not writing, Frank spends much of his time painting in his studio
