Barry Wilks began working with a Sydney morning paper as a copy boy and then moved onto an apprenticeship in the plumbing and a lifetime working in the building trade. Eventually he became a chimney sweep in Armidale and Uralla, NSW.
He enjoys working with his hands in timber and metal. He also likes a good productive vegie garden. Barry had his first book published in 2009, his autobiography Come in Spinner.
