Brian J. Meade is a medical research scientist. He specialises in the monitoring of patients with chronic illness who live in remote areas. He and his wife Elizabeth have travelled to (and worked in) various countries, and they lived for an extended period in Ireland. The stories in this book are a reflection of the colourful people they have been involved with and the small communities of which they have been a part. They live with their family in a 'wee village' on the soutwest coast of Victoria, Australia.
