Ale Liubinas

Ale Liubinas was born in Lithuania. In 1944 she and her family fled from the Russians to the West. After the Second World War she lived in the refugee camps in Germany until she and her family migrated to Australia in 1949. In 1953, Ale married Algis and together they raised and educated a family of four sons. 1965 saw Ale starting night classes in Dress Design and later in Handloom Weaving and Design. She graduated in Fine Arts at Phillip Institute, majoring in ceramics.
At present she is involved in writing and is a member of the Adult Education Association Writers’ Group and the Society of Women Writers Victoria Inc.
