Matthew T. Hogan

Early in his career Matthew Hogan worked in the newspaper industry, first with the bygone Sydney Daily Mirror, then with the weekly handbook of the rural community, The Land. The lessons of grammar, punctuation and syntax eagerly learned in these 12 years remain indelibly imprinted.
At age 29 Matt joined the office equipment giant Xerox Corp and was quickly promoted to district sales manager, a position requiring detailed proposal writing and the creative writing of sales training packages used throughout the company. Matt’s technical writing skills were finely honed during this period.
Matt then moved into the retail sector, becoming a director of a newly formed family company in the decorative industry. Within a short time the business became a member of Australia’s largest decorative group, 3D Paint and Colour, with 120 stores covering every state and territory. 3D Paint and Colour is a dynamic unlisted public company and in the late 1980s the author was elected to the board as a director, becoming chairman in the late 1990s – a position held for several years. The diligence and attention to detail acquired as director and chairman of a public company has flowed into the writing of The Eternal Search for God.
Since childhood the author has harboured a passion for all things historical and an absolute fascination with the different faiths and beliefs followed by mankind. After standing down from all 3D group board positions [to keep a promise to his wife], Matthew has had the time and opportunity to meticulously research and commit to paper the contents of this book. He is regarded as a perfectionist by business associates and peers alike, which hopefully becomes evident on the reading this manuscript.
Over the years, Matthew has had several articles printed in trade magazines and published in the Sydney Morning Herald. He is undertaking an arts/philosophy course as an off campus mature age student at the University of New England. Happily married for more than 40 years, he has two adult children – a daughter who is a high school teacher of English, humanities and media and a son who is a builder.
