Life is short, and I would like my life to be a testament of someone having tried new things, lived in different places and followed my heart. As a single mum with a teenage son, I want him to see how many opportunities and experiences he can gain in his life by being brave enough to follow his heart’s desires.

I am a jack-of-all-trades and master of none. I have been a youth worker for street kids in Sydney, a funeral director in Wollongong and Brisbane, a house parent for Australia’s elite divers, a treatment foster parent in Canada, a youth minister for four churches in Adelaide, a banker in a number of cities and countries, a co-ordinator for junior boy boarders at St Peters Lutheran College in Brisbane, an assistant nurse in South Australia and an enrolled nurse in the Illawarra.

I am proud of my achievements and I value the opportunities life has thrown at me. I was privileged to be able to sing our national anthem at a world diving championship event in Brisbane , Australia . I was invited to Boystown in Omaha , Nebraska , to be a guest speaker at the National American Teaching Family Association (NATFA) conference. My greatest blessing came in 1993 in the form of my son, Curtis John Gordon (CJ).

I am so very grateful to God for all that He has allowed me to be and do through His strength. I am excited to continue life’s journey to the utmost because life truly is a nanosecond compared to eternity.
