Robena June Schaerf

Robena Schaerf was born in Ouse, Tasmania, Australia on October 8, 1948 to John and Myrtle Grant. Her family later re-located to the small Hunter Valley town of Cessnock, New South Wales. Robena graduated from Cessnock High School and in 1969 graduated with a General Nursing Degree from Cessnock and District School of Nursing. During 1970-71 she worked as an airline stewardess for Ansett Airlines and was based in Melbourne.
She returned to nursing and received a post-graduate degree in Intensive and Coronary Care from the Sydney University Teaching Hospital.
In 1973 Robena accepted an opportunity to further her nursing career in the USA. She married an American in 1979 and divorced in 1991. She has two children, Anna and David, both of whom are attending California colleges. She now resides in Sherman Oaks, California with her great love, Nikki, her 100lb Akita. Always active in volunteer fundraising Robena developed a passion for special events and public relations. She attended writing courses at the University of California in Los Angeles and assisted her son’s high school, Bridges Academy, with their publications. She was also employed at Braille Institute in the mid-nineties. In recent years Robena’s passion for writing switched to fiction and she pursued an off campus degree course from the Institute of Children’s Literature in Connecticut, receiving her diploma in 1996. In addition, she had one poem,
Wildflowers, published in 1995, and another, Love in Modern Times, published in 1996. She is a member of the International Poets Society. During 2000-01 she attended fiction writing classes and seminars at UCLA Extension and began writing her first novel, Granton Manor. You are invited to visit Robena's website at www.robenagrant.com
