Chrissie MacDonald

Chrissie Macdonald was born forty something years ago in Islington, London. A congenital Arsenal supporter, Chrissie has comedy blood in her veins. Her great uncle was Jimmy Gold, of the Crazy Gang's Naughton and Gold and her grandfather was comedian, Charlie Gold of Fred Karno music hall fame.
Chrissie and her family moved to Brisbane, Australia when she was seven and from this early age enjoyed performing, at school, in amateur dramatic groups and later, with Brisbane's Twelfth Night Theatre. The 70s brought marriage and a Government job in Canberra, followed by the 80s and two children. The 90s was a decade of study (Management) and career growth, all the while absorbing comedy in every form.
Her love of politics, quick wit and writing skills led to her appointment as Electorate Media Officer for Queensland Labor MP, Linda Lavarch, writing newspaper columns, media releases, publicity and speeches. Chrissie has written articles for a number of online comedy magazines, devised a television sitcom, written gags for a stand-up comedian and taken up her ultimate challenge, 'Why don't you write a book about British comedy'? She did!
Chrissie is divorced, still works in politics, swims regularly, laughs often and lives in Brisbane with her children, Heather and Robert.
