Allan Pritt

A native of Cumbria, Allan came to Australia in 1966, as a ten-pound POM. He was a victim of the demise of the English coal industry, having worked for the National Coal Board for eleven years.
After working for tweny-eight years in The University of Western Australia Central Administration, he is now retired and divides his time between his oil painting, occasional travels and more recently his writing.
He is married with a grown up family.
Allan considers himself an Accidental Author, as with no previous writing experience, the inspiration for 'Emily's Destiny' came through writing a short story to help one of his grandchildren complete a school project. She wanted to know what it was like growing up in England during World War Two. Writing the short story revived so many memories of his early years that he decided to write a novel set in his native Cumbria. Saying that his own life story would make for very dull reading he created a work of fiction but set during the period he lived there, 1934 to 1966.
A keen crime reader, Allan's novel crosses several genres and is part thriller, part romance, has a touch of humour and is also historical fiction.
