Lisha Miller

Lisha Miller was born in Fiji. At the age of thirty she migrated to Australia. When she was a few months old, her mother gave her away to be looked after by her grandparents. Spending her childhood years with them, Lisha experienced many traumas that left scars on her being. She yearned for love and affection and prayed for acceptance into her family.
At the age of thirteen, she entered high school in Suva, where her parents lived. Only then was she able to move in with her parents. Due to her very different upbringing, she was unable to fit in with her siblings. This dashed her hopes of a happy reunion with her family and added to her turmoil. After three years of high school, she had to find work to help provide for her family. One and a half years later, Lisha found her way out of the family that she hardly knew; she got married at the age of eighteen.
At the start, marriage brought love and affection, but family conflict and interference saw the end of happiness. At the age of twenty Lisha became the mother of a beautiful daughter; a son followed six years later. As her marital problems escalated, her only way out at the time was a divorce. Due to the pressures of her society, she then decided to leave Fiji and migrate to Australia, as she had visited the country before and loved what she had seen of it. After living in Sydney for a few years, she moved to Brisbane, where she decided to live permanently.
At forty-two, Lisha’s career reached its peak. Since gaining her accounting qualifications in Fiji, she had worked in the corporate environment, moving upwards from clerical to mid-management positions. Now it was her time to flourish as she took on a senior management role with a retailer. Although her job was demanding, she quite enjoyed running the show. She made many improvements, which her bosses commended her for.
As part of her daily routine, Lisha wrote many reports and correspondences. For years she pondered over writing her life story. When she heard of Princess Diana’s death it inspired her to write her book. She realised that every minute of life we had mattered, and it should not be wasted: we should not postpone what we want to do without good reason.
The roller-coaster of Lisha’s life made her recognise what was important to her. She wants to share her experiences with others, hoping it will help them achieve closure, find their paths, their faith, their understanding of others, or whatever they are looking for in life. Lisha wasted precious hours, days – in fact years, worrying over issues that were bothering her, while the clock of her life was ticking away. She wants to prevent others from doing the same. Above all Lisha loves to have fun in life. Even with all the ups and downs that she was faced with, she still went out dancing, travelled to places of interest and always included her children in the fun. She taught them to enjoy life, which they whole-heartedly took on board.
