Nancy Lacey

Born in 1938 in Victor Harbour, South Australia, Nancy Lacey led a nomadic life which took her from the city of Adelaide to the world’s largest cattle station in the Northern Territory and eventually to a banana plantation in Far North Queensland where she settled with her husband and three children. Nancy experienced a disrupted education, attending ten different schools in three states. An accomplished artist, Nancy was also an active member of amateur theatre in Cairns.
Nancy researched locations and worked on the initial stages of this novel for several years, and finally completed it whilst in remission from cancer in 2000. The book served as an inspiration for her recovery. Sadly, however, Nancy lost her battle with cancer in 2002 before this book was published.
