Kathy Wright who, in 1968 was 24, kept a frank and meticulous diary. It is an absorbing, amusing and exciting story of the epic journey across the world of two young and very naive people.Kate is a fit and healthy, seventy-year-old retiree, living in Adelaide, South Australia, very much enjoying the free time for travelling, reading, walking, swimming and learning Tai Chi. She is an active member of the International Lions Club of Burnside, giving something worthwhile back to the community.
Kate was born Kathleen Anne White in Lincoln, England, in 1944, the youngest of four children. In 1946, the family moved to Glasgow, Scotland, where she had a middle-class, well-disciplined upbringing. At the age of eighteen she met George Wright and they married six years later in 1968.
In Australia, after the birth of her two sons and a daughter in the 1970s, Kate gained qualifications through the Technical and Further Education college and university, which enabled her to establish a long and highly successful career in the vocation of children's services, care and education. She holds passionate beliefs regarding the “rights of the child” and the need to strengthen public awareness about child protection and domestic violence.
Kate and George divorced in 1998 and both have since remarried. Kate is now married to Glen Clements and has eight grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.
Kate became an Australian citizen in 1988 and has since made three trips back to Scotland by conventional commercial air travel to visit family and friends. However, she greatly appreciates the opportunities and lifestyle that Australia has given her and she very much regards this wonderful country as her home.

Testimonial

As a first author and being totally unfamiliar with publishing procedures & protocols I was absolutely thrilled when I received from Sid Harta Publishers my first printed copy of 'A Flight Against All Odds'. All thanks to Kerry Collison who, from the very beginning, believed my story was worth telling. Kerry and his exceptionally talented & knowledgeable team, expertly & professionally guided me through the publishing process from the very first assessment to the final product. Each step was clearly documented, our legal contracts were written in user friendly language and the care and attention given to detail during the proofing, cover design & type setting stages was of very high quality and could not be faulted. At all times I was treated with genuine warmth, courtesy & respect and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. I am eternally grateful that I put my project in the hands of Sid Harta Publishers and immensely proud of the end result, 'A Flight Against All Odds'."
