A few other books have been written on the subject of Brisbane's Maximum Security Prison or its favoured name, Boggo Road Prison, but none have been at ground level for the reader to gain the understanding of life inside the walls for Prison Officers. These men were tagged with many nick names over the years, such as Screws, Turn Keys, Guard and Boss, all of which described us in various eras over the centuries. This book is based on my reflections of events as they happened or were recorded; I have endeavoured to be as accurate as possible through the following journals and correspondence.
