Ffull of Heart, Soul and Humour

Superbly written, full of heart, soul and humour. This is certainly not a dry read about one surgeon’s career. His immensely interesting life story is also an insight into the advances of modern medicine, the skill of our surgeons and the political history of medicine and academia.
Doug Tracy has led a highly-respected life as a surgeon, professor and a leader in his field. He has worked with many imminent surgeons all over the world, served on many medical boards and earned a great many accolades that include being named an Officer in the Order of Australia in 1985 for services to surgery.
Along the way, he and his much-loved wife Nola raised seven children. This is his story of a remarkable career that still continues today as Emeritus Consultant Surgeon at Sydney’s St Vincent’s Hospital.
Originally wanting to be a teacher, Doug Tracy’s father convinced him to apply himself to medical studies instead – many medical personnel who have been touched by Doug Tracy’s medical skills, friendship and support would be truly grateful for this “coercion”.
You don’t have to be in the medical profession yourself to thoroughly enjoy this humble life story.
