Life ‘outside the law’ is exciting for Oya, Kenon and her band of Kurdish rebels, who spend their days smuggling money to various Turkish prisons in order to assist in the fight for independence.
Their attention is captured by a rather wild story of a hidden valley, golden horses and more importantly, an outcrop of pure gold lying in vast quantities, ready for the taking. Not one to miss out on perhaps the only opportunity to free herself from her father’s controlling demands, Oya and her cronies greedily stop at nothing to get what they want.
An innocent bystander, Rozanne—bored and spoilt wife of a Turkish politician—becomes embroiled in a situation that also involves the military, politicians, two Aussie women, a pretty peasant girl, Talia and the entire village of Karabulduk.
Meanwhile, from the top of the minaret, the familiar words ring out sweet and clear, calling the faithful to prayer . . .
