The Monsignor and the Madman

When an uncle has to contend with the death of his nephew he begins a re-evaluation of the pillars of common thought. After the requiem a dialogue begins with a Catholic monsignor; it finishes in Geneva ten years later. On the edge of a European winter the uncle realises he has arrived at some sort of comprehension and, dare he think it, a hint of hope.
