I couldn’t put this small book down. It is such a sad book but also so inspirational.
It is an extraordinary story of a Tasmanian family suffering the worst form of brutal domestic violence. But it is also a story of the amazing courage of a dear, loving mother battling to raise her children in the most difficult of circumstances. It shows that there are no limits to the strength and resilience of the human spirit. Joy had the toughest of beginnings. But she did not let it defeat her. Instead, she held her head high and fought on with her amazing strength of character, which has enabled her to live a happy, successful and productive life.
