I believe that the bush is sacred and really believe that there are places on earth which have a sacred meaning. You only have to travel down Mudgee way to see the ancient rock sites and billabongs to appreciate there is something quite special about that area.
Brett Cowan would, I am sure, agree with my thoughts, as in this novel he studies nature which enriches our lives.
This book is chock full of life via Indigenous ecosystems and tells us that people can live harmoniously with their environment if they are willing to try.
Some people can look at a tree or rainforest and will state that it's just a bit of scrub or it needs a bit of a clean up. Others can see the beauty in a single leaf from a vine or tree. They can also feel the strength from a majestic tree which can be absorbed into our own bodies to refresh our souls.
Brett Cowan, in this book, forces us to study ourselves through creation around us. He believes our lives are governed by the seasons and cycles of life.
Brett also examines why our planet was named 'Earth'; evolution and the meaning of our origin as a race; and what is the highest state of genius we can achieve here on earth.
This is a thought-provoking novel which challenges our beliefs. I am sure that I am not the only person who has stood in a rainforest, on a mountain or looked at the ocean and seen the beauty of what is before me. How did this happen and how was it created?
The sheer magnificence of earth?s scenery conjures up thoughts of creation and life and death.
