Recently retired from a life-time of teaching, Di Perkins has embarked on collating stories from remarkable young people who have a strong story to tell. As an historian, this was a natural direction to choose as she believes great lessons can be learned from biographies. Two of her published books on North-West Queensland revolve around biographies.
An extensive trip overseas in 2012 has produced a combined publication for Di and her husband Bill. Called 'Counting Our Blessings, 69 Days in Europe' it is due to be launched mid-year in Brisbane. Di maintains that travelling with her geologist husband is the ultimate joy because of his knowledge and his curiosity to learn. They have four creative daughters of whom they are rightly proud. Bill and Di now live a very full life in Brisbane, drinking in the love of their two grandchildren, as well as walking through the magic forests of that part of the world.
