Rosie Abbott lives beside the Gippsland Lakes in Eastern Victoria. Prior to this, she lived in Callignee, in the Strzelecki Ranges, Gippsland. These locations have deepened her lifelong interest in landscape and belonging, both of which are central elements of her writing.
Rosie is passionate about writing and has received awards for short stories and poetry, several of which have been published, including: ‘The Exotic Other’ in Page Seventeen Issue 3; ‘Reverie’ in Coastlines 3, an anthology of writing from Southern Cross University; and ‘Boys in the Bush’ in A Hundred Years in the Bush, Outback Writers Centre, Dubbo, NSW.
The Scent of Belonging is her first novel, and reflects her strong interest in community and environment.
