Hélène A. Maher

Hélène Maher lives happily in the hills outside Sydney, with her husband, five children, a dog, a cat and a rabbit and soon hopes to get a goat or two. In her spare time, she enjoys cake decorating, dressmaking and sign writing. She was born in Toowoomba and is the second eldest of six children.
Hélène didn’t enjoy reading until about the age of twelve when she began reading to three of her younger siblings. But it was when she had her own children, and began reading to them, that she truly discovered the magic of storytelling. The sheer enjoyment of sharing the fantasy with the innocence of youth inspired her to write for children.
