BARRY ABLEY holds a Diploma of Education (Hawthorn Institute of Education), Graduate Diploma in Health Science (Queensland University of Technology) and Graduate Certificate in Health Economics (Monash University). A career in Secondary Education followed two years National Service conscription in the Royal Australian Engineers.
A long held interest in radio communications encouraged the author to study for the Amateur Operator’s Certificate of Proficiency in 1980. He has since communicated with other ‘Hams’ in over eighty countries. He held the call sign VK3YXK and is currently VK3SY. The Geelong Amateur Radio Club honoured him with Life Membership in 2009.
Aspects of Australia’s colonial history prompted his first two novels, particularly events associated with the region in which he resides.
