Buddy Chamberlain lives in Woodberry, a suburb near Maitland. He is the father of eight children, has twenty-three grandchildren plus a dozen or more great grandchildren.
Buddy was a painter at the Port Waratah Steel works which he left to go shunting at the AIS at Port Kembla. He then returned to Newcastle where he worked at the blast furnaces at Port Waratah. In 1960 he studied for five years to gain his Metallurgy Certificate.
After many years a dream was born and Buddy, his wife and the children still living at home moved to a sheep property, an hour’s drive from Bourke.
He loves working in the garden and fishing.
When he can, Buddy and his wife travel Australia in their old caravan called SHOTHRU; however when they are at home he believes his writing takes centre stage.
