Darcy Noffke was born in Charleville in 1950 and spent his childhood in various Outback Queensland towns where his father, a police officer, was stationed. During the seventies and early eighties he worked at the Courier Mail in Brisbane where his childhood imagination was further fuelled by the creative and eccentric personalities with whom he worked. He now lives on the Gold Coast with his wife, and has three adult children, three step-children and five grandchildren.
