Ian Hummerston worked briefly as an underground gold miner in Gwalia in the West Australian goldfields before becoming an award-winning career journalist who edited a major metropolitan daily newspaper for more than a decade. A writer with a passionate interest in Australia’s history and its characters, he was fascinated by the outback’s unforgiving but breathtaking landscape and its equally breathtaking people. Letters From Holman’s Find is his first published novel. Shortly after completing this book, Ian Hummerston died in Perth in 2006 aged 75.
