Lawrence Pope

Lawrence Pope was born in 1960 in the Diamond Valley which sounds romantic but wasn't. Married, he lives in North Carlton with his wife Megan and cat Mr Wallace. For two decades he has publicly advocated for the more humane treatment of animals and has led several high profile animal campaigns. His essays have appeared in various magazines and also The Age, Sydney Morning Herald, Adelaide Sunday Mail and Herald Sun newspapers. Lawrence regularly speaks on radio 3CR's Freedom of Species program and, though pessimistic, he continues to hope for a saner world.
