I was born in Tasmania, Australia, and attended Devonport High School and Don College. I spent my recreational hours playing hockey and bushwalking. I have worked for the Royal Life Saving Society as a swim teacher and lifeguard. I’ve also tried my hand at being a jackaroo and worked in retail sales. I returned to study and, when achieving university level, gave up my science degree to start writing the Phoebe Leda stories.
I have two other passions in life other than writing, and they are astronomy and nature, both of which have given me inspiration to write this story. I also try my hand at poetry and love fishing, art and swimming.
