Mary Wicks was born in Adelaide, South Australia and has lived there all her life. She and her husband have travelled widely, and Mary has always had a deep appreciation of and fascination with the beauty of nature in all its forms as well as a strong awareness of the need to preserve and protect all living creatures, particularly those considered to be endangered. An accomplished artist, she works mainly with watercolours and pastels. Trapped Beneath the Ice is her first book.
