Michael Jones was born in Sydney, educated at Sydney Grammar and University of Sydney, and was a solicitor there for ten years before deciding to leave and travel overseas. Since then he has lived and worked in Spain, France, Italy, Switzerland, the United States, England, India, Russia, Malaya and Portugal, mainly in the not for profit world, but also in the business and professional world. He has written and published a number of professional articles concerning management problems in these areas, and has published a book on charity fundraising, and a book of poems. His three children live in Rome, London and Miami, and his four stepchildren in various parts of Australia and the United States. Michael returned to live in Australia in 2000 after almost 40 years, and now resides with his partner in Woollahra in Sydney where he is working on a new novel and a second book of poems and short stories.
