Rosemary Holmes, a former Double Certificate nursing sister, was involved in the lavender industry for thirty-three years. She was the main instigator for the founding of The Australian Lavender Growers' Association and was its inaugural president. She held seminars on the commercial growing of lavender for seventeen years.
She lectured in both the North and South Islands of New Zealand, was a Facilitator for the First International Conference on Women in Agriculture at Melbourne University, was a semi-finalist for the Women Chiefs of Enterprise International and was nominated as a semi-finalist for the Telstra Victorian Business Woman of the Year.
In partnership with Edythe Anderson, she managed the Yuulong Lavender Estate situated at Mount Egerton in west-central Victoria.
Rosemary wrote the history of The Australian Lavender Growers' Association and this book was launched at the 20th Anniversary Conference in April 2015.
