Simon Klapish was born in Manchester, England. After graduating as a microbiologist, he came to Australia in 1979 on a one-year work permit. He then migrated in January 1982.
His family’s experiences of life and work in Northern Ireland provided the backdrop for much of his first book, Ripples of Revenge.
Simon joined the Australian Army Reserve in 1982 and went on to be a Captain, holding various roles in an infantry battalion, and then training officer cadets in tactics.
He retired from the Army Reserve in 1993 in order to complete a Masters Degree in Business (Marketing) at RMIT University.
Simon worked with Telstra for 11 years and is now the Marketing Executive for Hazelwood Power.
Simon has travelled extensively, having visited over 50 countries. He is married to Leslie and has a daughter, Emma. They live in East Bentleigh, Melbourne.
