For Whom the River Runs is Wayne Pappin's first novel. The unfinished manuscript lay dormant for many years. Work and family commitments meant the draft struggled to see the light of day. Now retired, and with more time on his hands, the author, in a flurry of determination, decided to drive the spectre of procrastination from the desk top of failed ambition and finish the manuscript. The incentive was to leave something by which his children and grandchildren would remember him.
The author began his working life as a Secondary School teacher, then as an Electorate Officer for a Member of Parliament and, before retirement, was, for over five years, the Associate Director of a large Faculty at a Victorian T.A.F.E. College. Variously he has been a Councillor on the City of Whittlesea and is currently very active in the local community and a member of many committees.
