We farmers are always looking for ways to achieve a better result and observing how others do things is a basic part of our learning process. My father always said "a farmer learns through his eyes - so observe." With well targeted information on new farming practices from the technologists the local farmers with local knowledge and keen observation learnt quickly and then wanted more progress. The commitment, undertakings and the sheer passion of the research and extension personnel is well reflected in this wonderful story. Many of the people in this book I know and respect. To read of their achievements is a reward. Such a testament to their work demands wide circulation. [It is a] great reflection on people and events.
