Six women, all over fifty, have met each month for eight years to discuss books they've read. Now they've had enough of chick lit and fantasy and are writing their own book. When Lucy, the first to say “Ten Years Ago I...” reveals previously hidden secrets, the others feel free to be as honest when they tell their own stories: of lovers, swingers, death and divorce.
The reactions to the sexual adventures revealed by some of the group illustrate the personalities of the members, and events during the year change the fixed ideas of some of the characters.
As problems arise during the year of the stories, the closeness that develops because of the revelations helps the women to deal with these challenges, and become strong. Without formal planning, they are there for each other, to provide whatever is needed…
