Annette Hansen was born in Denmark in 1966 and migrated to Australia with
her parents and sister in 1969. She grew up in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne,
travelling regularly throughout Europe, Asia and Scandinavia with her family
until the age of 23.
Annette graduated from La Trobe University in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science
Degree in Biological Sciences (majoring in zoology), after which she was a
partner in business with her husband in both the transport and home services
industries.
Annette moved to the Mornington Peninsula in 1994 and currently works as a
freelance editor and manuscript assessor as well as studying for an Advanced
Diploma in Professional Writing and Editing. She is currently working on a
second poetry collection and a self-help book, with plans for a horror novel
sometime in the future.
Annette Hansen is divorced with no children. She is an avid reader, owns 3
cats and loves taking her great dane on leisurely walks near the bay. She also
enjoys music (and is learning the drums), spending time in the garden, with
her family or just hunting for bargains in the seaside villages near her home.
