Marie Seltenrych was born in Leixlip, Co. Kildare, Ireland. Marie attended a
Vocational College and eventually became a Secretary to a Dublin MP. She pursued
her acting and ambition by attending evening classes, and found local fame playing
the ingénue in Brendan Behan’s famous play, The Hostage.
Marie migrated to Australia in 1971 where she met and married Henry. She lived
in Sydney then Canberra, where her two children were born, then moved to Queensland.
She began to write book-length stories, including The Gum Tree Gang, published
in 1991. Marie is presently working on a second novel.
