During his working life, the author had careers in banking, the Air Force and civil aviation. The Air Force was his primary career, retiring with senior rank to live on the Gold Coast. His experiences ranged across management of computer developments, project management, organisation review and defence related activities. He held positions at a General Manager and Director level. As is the case, personal interests change relative to the years. Active sports such as squash and water polo, for many years, were replaced by golf and weekly gym visits. Intellectual pursuits became focused on politics, contemporary history and the world we live in. The latter prompting his current story — fiction, certainly, but generally an ever-present problem in this day and age.
