Patti Smith lives with her husband in Brisbane. They have three children and their grandchildren are the light of Patti’s life.
She always wanted to write about her large, Irish Catholic family but could never find time as she served as President of both Women’s Action Alliance and the Australian Family Association. She worked to influence public policy and legislation on government and non-government committees prosecuting social and moral issues ranging from economic justice for families to bio-ethics.
Using her media and journalistic skills, she became a well-known spokesperson in the print and electronic media and her involvement in Catholic Media took her to Rome to be presented to Pope John Paul II. After a dance with death, her wings were clipped and she found time to write her first novel while recuperating after a series of heart operations.
She calls herself a Catholic writer but hopes the humour and heroism of her characters will appeal to all who cherish fun, faith and family.
