Sandra Slatter CM, MIEF is a cancer and bone marrow transplant survivor.
Prior to being diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in August 2003, Sandra spearheaded her own successful company; a proven leader in economic, business and community development. Her outstanding contributions to her profession, her community and our society have made her a role model to which many others aspire. In recognition of her invaluable and outstanding contribution to the small business community, she was awarded the Centenary Medal.
In the past two years, as well as undergoing and recovering from very aggressive cancer treatment, she has had and continues to live a fulfilling life. She has helped rewrite the Royal Melbourne Hospital's Bone Marrow Transplant Education Guide for transplant recipients, carers and families and completed a full-time Postgraduate Diploma of Arts (Civil Ceremonies). She is the founder for the ?Living Well? Project and is also currently writing a commemorative book for the Royal Melbourne Hospital marking the twentieth anniversary of bone marrow transplantation.
