Stephen McPherson comes from Mandurah in Western Australia. Stephen spent the last twenty-five years performing Occupational Safety and Health roles for various companies in Australia. Stephen started his own consultancy and built it up to include clients from all over the world.
In 2016, Stephen started studying full-time doing law at Notre Dame University in Fremantle Perth. He had about twelve months to go to finish his degree, wanting to specialise in Safety, Workers Compensation and Industrial Relations. Before undertaking a job in this field, Stephen spent ten years in the Royal Australian Air Force as a Policeman, and this is where he gets most of his discipline, positivity and determination from.
Stephen is the oldest of two children and is currently living in Perth. As a result of the cancer, Stephen lost both his career, business and future as a lawyer. One thing that was lacking in Western Australia when Stephen started this journey, was support from external agencies and he had to rely on family. So, Stephen started the Perth Head and Neck Cancer Support Group and a head and neck cancer charity called the Western Australian Head and Neck Cancer Support Foundation.
