TIME TO TIME By Ruth O’Reilly This book has been many years in the making and covers a diverse range of characters all given fictional life in a series of short stories. The common thread between all stories is the characters’ struggle in life and release in death. Meet Eleuwyn, a Scottish queen living in the sixth century; Conrad, a German boy living in a small village in the 12th century; Eva, a European gypsy living in the 17th century; Bintha, a young North American Indian living in the 17th century; and Patrick, an intelligent and adventurous lad facing life in Scotland around the era of World War Two. The author has spent years of research in building the historical and social backdrop for each of these characters. Each must battle with the customs of the times and the politics of their countries to forge a life of their own and each face some tragedy and triumph. Each story is deliciously different and intriguing to the reader. The moral of each story is that no matter where or when we live, our lives are dictated by many outside forces and it is up to us to prevail and stay true to our hearts. Ruth O’Reilly has spanned centuries in her quest to put her dreams to paper and each story is well worth reading. WENDY O’HANLON - Acres Australia
