Memoir
Endowed with beauty, charm and intelligence, Australian born Margaret Burton
was a free spirit who developed and used her manifold talents in every way she
could from her days at school until the day she died.
When she was twenty, she and her sister travelled to England. Her bubbly, open
personality and beauty soon landed her many jobs in modeling and acting.
She seemed to have the world at her feet, but her ambitions were shattered when,
during a visit home to Australia, her health dramatically deteriorated. After
her brush with death, Margaret diverted her creative output from Performing Arts
to Visual Arts.
As well as her modeling and acting career, Margaret Burton will long be remembered
for her series of haunting paintings which foreshadowed her impending early death.
